Guitar/Bass/Ukulele Lessons in Schöneberg or WEBCAM

‍ Hi, I’m Justin, a seasoned music instructor with over 15 years of experience teaching guitar (acoustic, electric, and classical), bass guitar, and ukulele, and a Bachelor of Music degree. I hold a Bachelor of Music degree with a focus on classical and jazz guitar, and have performed and recorded music from a myriad of genres including rock, country, folk, gypsy jazz, indie/electronic, and many more. I’ve also done lots of work as a music transcriber, and have written several e-books and articles on the subject of learning guitar, bass and ukulele.

My main teaching philosophy is to teach YOU music through the music that YOU LOVE. I don’t use method books from the 1950s that teach you how to play “Mary Had A Little Lamb” or “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”…unless, of course, that’s the kind of music you love to listen to and want to learn. Whatever your goal is on the instrument, I will take you step-by-step until you reach it.

For BEGINNERS, the fundamentals of the instrument are given the highest priority: how to tune your instrument, names of all the notes, essential chords, basic strumming, playing in time and understanding basic rhythm.

For INTERMEDIATE players, or someone who already plays but needs a little help getting out of the rut, we'll spend time fixing bad technical habits, hammering home the fundamentals, expanding their repertoire, and slowly moving outside of the comfort zone to new horizons.

With ADVANCED players, listening (ear training), transcribing, song analysis, exploring advanced theory concepts, and focusing on composition and improvisation are most important.
